"International open-air painting sessions" were initiated in 2011. They are a series of annual international open-air painting sessions, which include artists from Ukraine and Poland. They are carried out both in the picturesque places of the Sumy region and in the Polish town of Gliwice. During the activity of the open-air painting sessions participants not only paint, but also get acquainted with cultural monuments, visit nature reserves of the Sumy region. Trips to Semyrotivka village of the Lebedinsk District, home of David Burliuk, continue the tradition of honoring the memory of the world-renowned artist and poet launched by the Academy in 2007. In a few years it is planned to hold the final exhibition, which will display all works donated to the art collection of the Academy by the participants.
